AIKIDO
Aikido can be described in many ways: “the art of self-defense”, “the WAY of uniting physical and mental strength”, “the gentle martial art from Japan”, “meditation in motion” or as a mixture of martial art and sport. The name “Aikido” is made up of three Japanese characters: “Ai” stands for the spirit, “Ki” represents energy and “Do” symbolizes the WAY. Together they refer to the endeavor to bring mind and energy into harmony and use them efficiently.

MEDIA
An extensive collection of photos and videos from national and international events over many years provides insights into the practice and culture of Aikido within ACSA and its member clubs. These visual documents are not only a source of nostalgia, but also a living testimony of how Aikido is experienced as a way of life and community.
